Backderf, Derf. "My Friend Dahmer." Comic strip. Kindle EBook. N.p.: Abrams ComicArts, 2012. 1+. Print
This comic book showed a very interesting twist on an outside peer perspective of Jeffrey Dahmer. The comic was written and illustrated by a fellow high school classmate of Dahmer’s. It is interesting to see how he was not really the outcast in high school, even though he did not have many friends and was very introverted. He was classified as the class clown and always gave people a good laugh. Backderf shows how shocked he was that Dahmer could actually follow through with his actions even though there were always some signs that if people paid closer attention to would have raised some concerns. This site will not be very useful as far as factual information on Dahmer, but it was very, very interesting. I did not read the entire thing, but the parts that I did read got thoughts turning in my mind. This source may be biased based on the author’s personal experiences and opinions of Dahmer.

http://www.trutv.com/library/crime/serial_killers/notorious/dahmer/index.html.
This website gives a whole outline of Jeffrey Dahmer’s life from childhood to prison life and also goes beyond to explore his perspective. The evaluation of Dahmer was ongoing when he was killed so it never was able to be completed. Nobody will ever know Dahmer’s full, true desires and motives to kill and resort to cannibalism. Not only was there that investigation, but there was the questioning of whether or not Dahmer had changed as a person in prison since he had been baptized and become extremely religious and spiritual. This source was very useful as it had all the facts throughout his lifetime and I like that it did not only stuck to his biography and went a little deeper into his psyche. It is credible as it is linked with a very prestigious broadcasting company and network television channel. The facts also match what I have found in previous research.
Blanco, Juan I. "Walter Ellis." Murderpedia. N.p., 2012. Web.
This website has articles from several different sources; like newspapers, and articles from the Milwaukee court house. Walter Ellis was also known as the Milwaukee North Side Strangler. The name was created and used by a local news station, WTMJ, Channel 4. Ellis is a serial killer that raped and strangled seven women between 1986 -2007 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His victims ranged in age from 19 to 41 and were black women. Detective Steven Spingola was the Milwaukee police homicide detective that was working on the Milwaukee North Side Strangler case. This website has a lot of good articles about the crimes committed by Walter Ellis. It also has a lot of good pictures from court and timelines that put the murders he committed in order. The information from this site matches the information found in my other sources.
Cannibals and Evil Cult Killers. London: A Time Warner Book, 2006. 199-208. Print.
This book is a good written source and lines up a lot with the video on Ed Gein. It tells about the family of Ed Gein and how all his family members died and the effects it had on him. It also goes into detail all the things they found in Ed Gein’s house. His killings are discussed and how he did it goes a little bit further into detail than other sources have. This author does a good job of telling the story of Ed Gein and why he turned out the way he did. His mother and the seclusion of his childhood has been thought to have produced Ed Gein the way we know him today. It has accounts of neighbors and friends that had contact with him while he was doing these crimes and their reaction when they found out about what he had done. The author is very acknowledgeable and accurate with his information. It’s a very good source for telling information on Ed Gein’s background and history.
Card, James. “David Spanbauer, Serial Child Killer and Rapist” Crime Library (2012)
This article is a bibliography on the life of Serial killer David Spanbauer. It talks about his family and his early years. It also talks about him being in and out of prison and the crimes he was brought to court for. David Spanbauer was born in January of 1941 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. He was the oldest of child and had two younger sisters. His father was tough on him as a
child and had passed away when David was 14. He has a history of being in trouble with the law since his teenage years - he has the juvenile records to prove it. He has been in out of prison his whole life and has always been an endangerment to society his whole life. This source has a lot of facts about David Spanbauer’s whole life and that he has always been an issue in society and that he has been this way all his life. I think this is a good source to use on the website because in is unbiased and contains information on his whole life, not just the years he was just considered a serial killer. It kind of shows through what he went through and did in his life that made him what he was.

Almost all of his murders and assaults where committed in the year of 1994. Some of the crimes that he committed were his attempted abduction of a 24-year-old women in Waupaca County. “Ed Gein.” Serial Killers. The Biography Channel. Bio. Toronto. 6 April 1987. Film.
This video I found on Ed Gein portrayed his life and had the accounts of his neighbors and residents of Plainfield, WI. The video told the story about Ed Gein and how he got to the state he ended up in. It also showed pictures of his house, the crime scene, and his headstone. The video was very interesting and it accurately told the story of Ed Gein. It had good visuals and interviews that helped you feel the eeriness of the story. The author did a good job at incorporating the stories of the people of Plainfield and showing what they were feeling until the death of Ed Gein. This source is good for a visual account of Gein’s life and the reaction of his neighbors.

This website also gave a timeline sort of layout of Jeffrey Dahmer’s life. This site gave more detailed information on his childhood and specific victims than other sites did. I also found it helpful that the site gave some direct quotes from Dahmer that he said in his few interviews and I plan to use them in my site. This source is fairly credible. It was created and edited by a television network and the facts seem to lineup for the most part, minus a few number details, with the rest of my sources. It has consistently been updated and checked over by the site editors quarterly every year.

This is a news article from cbs news about the conviction of Walter Ellis. He was sentenced to seven life sentences for the killing of seven women over a 21-year long period. All the victims were killed by strangulation – by either my hand of by a rope or cloth tied around the victims neck. His arrest and conviction brings a close to a killing spree since 1986, solving a lot of cold cases. He was matched to all seven cases by DNA sample collect from the victims. He pleaded no contest to the charges of first degree murder and first degree intentional homicide. This newspaper source is reliable source and was done by the same people of the TV show 48 Hours. All the fact within the article matches up with the information of my other sources.

He went on a killing spree of 13 years and during that period took the lives of 17 young men. There were a couple near misses the cops had with him, but finally in 1991 he was caught and sentenced to 957 years in prison. He was murdered in prison by a fellow inmate in 1994. Psychologists never got to complete their analyzation of Dahmer, his full intent and motives are not know to their capacity to this day. This site was very useful, it gave a very detailed explanation of his childhood, his victims, his killing techniques, and also personal interviews with Jeffrey himself and also his Father. This documentary was published by thenetwork television channel A&E and is a credible source. It was adocumentary that aired on national television back in 1996.
"Portrait of a Killer.” Time. 2 December 1957: 40. Print.
This source tells accurate information about Ed Gein in more depth in some subjects that other sources didn’t cover. It told about his mother and why Ed Gein did these crimes based off her. We don’t know the exact reason why and we never will but psychologists have studied him and have found clues to why he did it. This source says that he committed the crimes he did because of his hate toward his mother and the want to bring her back. This source also has good quotes by him and quotes that explained why he did the things he did. It also had deep psychological point about why he did the things he did and reasoning behind the things they found. This is a really good source of information and the author does a good job explaining the background of his life and behind why he did the things he did. Portrait of a Killer is a good source for telling the psychological side of Ed Gein’s life.
